Join us for an engaging evening focused on Coverlets and a few refreshments.

Attendees will learn about the Jacquard loom—an innovative technology that laid the foundation for the computerized world we know today—as well as the local weavers who practiced this craft. The lecture will also explore the history and significance of these beautiful bed coverings that kept our ancestors warm on chilly nights. Join the Farm Museum for the first event of 2026, in celebrating 60 years of education, entertainment, and preservation of local history in Westminster.

During the day: bring your coverlet in the afternoon for a photo and historical information. Contact Elaine for details at eshirley@carrollcountymd.gov or to reserve your coverlet timeslot. Day time event is free; just need to reserve a timeslot to have your coverlet examined/photographed.
