Farm Museum Traditional Arts Festival: October 11: 11am to 4pm (formerly Fall Harvest Celebration)

Live Music: Friki Tiki Band (disco, dance & pop tunes) 11:30am-1:30pm & Rev 6 Band (creative party band) 2pm-4 pm

Local artisans will be demonstrating their craft on two floors of the Living History Center. There you will find our local artisans weaving, quilting, hooking a rug and more.  Our quilt exhibit Stitching History is on the second floor.

Stop by the Hoff Barn for a chance to milk a cow, shell corn, saw a log and make rope.

Special guest Ken Schwarz, Colonial Williamsburg Master Blacksmith will be working in the Blacksmith shop throughout the day.

Special guest Steve Dlisle, Master Tinplate Worker formerly of Colonial Williamsburg will be working in the Tinsmith Shop in the Living History Center all day.

John Boag, Master Wheelwright formerly of Colonial Williamsburg will demonstrate placing an iron tire on a wheel at the Marring Transportation Barn. Demonstration will be 1:30-2:00 PM.

Elaine Shirley, Museum Curator will do a presentation on the museum’s Red Devon Oxen Jack & Jim. Jack & Jim will celebrate their tenth anniversary at the Carroll County Farm Museum.  The presentation will be between 1:30-2 PM at the Hoff Barn.

Doug Heck will demonstrate Lathe Turning and have turned bowls available for purchase in the Corncrib next to the Blacksmith Shop throughout the day.

Ten exhibit buildings will be open for exploration – Farmhouse, Living History Center, Alms Barn and adjacent buildings, Blacksmith Shop, Springhouse, Schoolhouse, Transportation and Hoff Barns.

Vendors subject to change without notice. No pets, glass containers, outside alcohol, grills, fireworks/sparklers. No pop up tents, no bikes/wheelies/hoverboards/skateboards/etc. Event is RAIN OR SHINE.

Allowed Bags:
-Clear Plastic Bags NO larger than 12″x6″x12″
-(1) Gallon Freezer Plastic Bag
-Fanny Packs or Clutch Purses NO larger than 5″x7″ (doesn’t need to be clear)
-Bags for medical devices or equipment, including diaper bags (doesn’t need to be clear)
There will be bag security checks. All bags subject to search. Bags not meeting the above criteria will not be permitted (they must be returned to vehicles).
